Cheese and Tommy toe toastie

Double points if you can name which sketch the title of thid post comes from :) hehhehe

This rather alluring jaffle is pretty fab. Thin slices of Sweet and Sour Rye with caraway seeds ( I think this is what you call pumpernickle Nic?), Vine ripened tomatoes, onion sprouts and grated pecorino. Oh yeah. Simple and perfect sustenece after a hard days slog.

What a yummilicious photo! Mmmmmmm. Just think, soon you will be taking pictures of sandwiches (and a million other things) made with tomatoes from your own garden!  Woohoo! Hmmmm. Right when we are in the dead of winter. Hmmmmm. Might have to take Eat Stuff hiatus. : )

P.S. I always think of pumpernickel bread as being very, very dark.

P.P.S. Did you bake that bread?

Hi Clare,

The sandwich looks yummy even though I don't like sprouts of any sort!

Hi Amy
Well I suppose I can.
How about a clue? It has something to do with the leading star of House. hehhehe

I wouldn't call it pumpernickle. It had to be darker that than. I just like mine on the light side, more like a ryle bread, than on the insanely dense, dark side. I can hear people now: "Come to the dark side Luke, et, Nic!" But I'll stay where I am, I think.

Hey Clare,

Jaffals, toasted sandwiches are the best and this one looks pretty darn good too.. I know who does the skit but have no idea what the skit name is.. Anyway pointing people in the right direction is "A bit of Fry and Laurie" Laurie being Hugh Laurie from the show House..

Anywho, still haven't decided what to bring to the party on the weekend. should be good.

see you then

I may be a few days late, but I'd like to submit my guess that the post's title comes from the book Ramona Quimby. Yes, I used to teach 3rd grade! :)
