Count down to new oven

So Everyone has heard about the oven of infinite sadness right?

Well can you guess what this ticker is for? Well it is counting down to the delivery date! WOHOO!!!
It might not get installed on that day because..... we have to have a plumber there too. Why? Because it will be gas!!!!!! How cool is this? Too cool if you ask me!
So I don't know what to make first, and I am going away for a couple of days..... so I thought I would put up a poll for what I will make first!!!

Here are the guidelines
1) you can only vote once
2) If you vote for other please leave a comment with what you think I should make!
3) The poll will end sometime on friday my time.

I can't wait to see what you choose!

xxx
Have a great week.... I am taking the Camera so there should be lots of photos!

Pavlova? Oh please! What a name for baked merangues!

BAKLAVA! BAKLAVA! BAKLAVA! BAKLAVA!

AND, I didn't have to vote more than once. It's a hands down thing, baklava all the way! The next question is, what kind?

I suggest a fruit & nut Clare!

Ooo. I agree with Sam: pavolva should have been an option. As much as I want cookies, I also want to see pavlova.
I'm so excited for you, Clare!

You should make my all time favorite cookies: Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Chips (yumm!). Yes, I'm aware I have no idea who you are, but we are fans of bakery...isn't that enough? hehehe.

Pav.
It just has to be Pav to test an oven and lots of bright coloured fruit on-top to test the photography. kiwi, strawberry, manderine, mango atop 2 inches of fresh cream.... aaaarrrggghhhh drool. :)

hmmm... I'm suddenly thinking we should get secondary votes... Those peanut butter chocolate chip cookies Marco Antonio mentioned sound pretty good.

Clare,

Ultimately you should make whatever you want to, although I voted for baklava, pick what you want! I'm just ready to see what you're going to bake.

Although you can combine the pavlova to be studded with baklava, cookies, and pieces of cake, all with a fruit topping...er ok maybe not *wink* Congrats on your oven and I can't wait to see what goodies you will bake!

I vote for "other" but not sure I have any suggestion yet but I do suggest you have a party to celebrate its arrival where the guests will be served something straight from the oven and that would be your 1st time using it.

hey, you're getting me a little excited .. looking forward to your invitation? hehe.

Hi guys,

Casey here, my first comment on eatstuff. I just spoke to Clare on the phone, she is at a beauty spa for a few days if you didn't already know. She is having fun and did archery today in the freezing cold. We have had snow at sea level in some parts of southern Australia, which NEVER happens.

Anyway she is excited about the poll, and I have been reading the results to her. She said to tell everyone wanting pavlova to vote for 'other' and comment in here.

Personally i want her to make me a spinach lasagne ;P

But please vote because then I get to eat the most popular option, YAY!

WOOHOO! Hi there Casey! Welcome to the comments! Mmmmm.... Wait till Mills hears that you like spinach lasagne. Let's see, you could start with little mini quiche tartlets as appitizers, followed by lasagne with a nice spinach salad, then DESERT! Every bit of it out of the new oven! OR instead of the mini quiche tartlets, you could have French Onion soup... ::sigh:: oh the possibilities...

Archery huh? I love archery, just can't get my hubby to buy me a bale of hay =o( I replace my bow strings just from disuse...

Casey,

Oh Love spinach lasagne! Hmmm...Spinach lasagne or baklava that is the question.

Clare,

I think you should make spinach lasagne, and then for dessert make baklava. hmmmm....I need to swim faster!! *puff puff*

Casey will be the winner of dinner...
We will all be thinner...
Cause not being there will make us grimmer...

Clare I am not sure why I was anonymous on my last post, but I didn't want you to think I had gone all this time w/o posting to you, so it was I cara, who left the anonymous post, and I mean it, I really do miss you!!!! I can't wait to see your photos!!

Casey, it's nice to hear from you!! I for one was begining to think that you might be clares alter ego!!!!

I've never been here before, looks promising.

I didn't know a gas oven was a good thing?! Gas stove is great, but gas oven? Tried it and was terrible, my cakes got burnt on the bottom and no color on the top. Is this just me? Is there any new revolutionary gas ovens on the market that I've missed out on?

Oh, and I look forward to see what you will do! Especially if it will be Baklava :9

::laughing:: Good thought Cara! I wondered the same thing myself. Time makes it true! HEY, Casey & Clare! How long have you been "juntitios"? I'm loving how even new visitors are voting for the baklava! How about cherry pecan? Guava paste with swiss cheese and pine nuts? Mango with macadamias?

Baklava? Baklava?  I must be missing something. My first choice was pizza (esp. after seeing the one you made at Casey's parent's house), but then I came to my senses and realized that OF COURSE IT SHOULD BE CAKE. A celebration cake with lots and lots of buttercream frosting!!!!!!! Also, I would bet that cake is one of the hardest things to make in the oven of infinite sadness.

And definitely spinach lasagne. YUM. (But of course eat the cake first.) : )

P.S. Casey--so nice to "see" you here!

Farmgirl, have you ever had baklava? If you haven't, I would love to send you a sample. Although I'm suddenly vacilating here between cake and baklava. In our family the "official" celebration cake is a red velvet cake with "pudding" frosting. ummmm... Interestingly enough, just like the baklava, it's MUCH better when it's a few days old... yummmmmmm ::sighs dreamily::
