Oven of infinite sadness *UPDATE*

The oven repair guy came out today and he said that the oven temperature probe is missing. That means it has been completely snapped off! He also does not beleive that it is worth repairing the oven and will recommend that we get a brand new one! Yipee!!!!!

So hopefully I will be able to bake again in the near future! *grin*

Oh, I am so jealous. The 2 large burners on my stovetop don't work consistently even though I've replaced them. Unfortunately, if we get a new oven we'd have to pay for it so no new oven for me right now! I will have to live vicariously through you!!

Hi Amy
They had better replace it! The worst thing is the owner lived here before us so she already knew it was broken and probably broke it herself *Grrrrr*

I wish I had to buy my own stove... cause that would mean we would live in our own house! *sigh*

Clare

I really hope you get your oven soon, and I can comiserate with having a crappy oven, but Im praying you will luck out and get a good one. At least you have gas I am stuck with elecetric right now that runs a bit higher then it should. But I am glad that your getting a new one, I know how terrible it is not having one at all! *shudder* Can't wait to see what you make!

Hi Milgwimper!
thanks so much for your commiseration. The oven *work* or at least pretends to, it lulls me into a sense of false security then *BANG* burns something to smitherens...
They better give me a new one!!!! and good at that!

I will take all the help I can get :)

ooohhh... a brand new oven! Lucky you. I have oven-envy. Mine is old. And ugly. And I would love one that looks like this: http://www.elmirastoveworks.com/northstar/index.cfm?section=ranges

BAKLAVA! THE VERY FIRST THING SHOULD BE BAKLAVA! ::looks in awe at the yelling:: umm.. excuse me, terribly rude that. ::sniff:: ::much more dignified now:: Might I suggest you have a go at baklava? It's quite conducive to testing a new oven with it's rather long and relatively low heat cooking time. It won't mind being peeped at occasionally either. ;o)

Am I the only person on the planet who doesn't like shopping for school supplies? I thought I would hurt somebody or myself in Target yesterday--just so the paramedics would come and rescue me from the angry mobs by the duo-tang folders. I hate school supply shopping.

Oh Amy
that sounds terrible! School supply shopping can be fun, but not in crowds!!! It has to be leisourly.
